Cat-fights among Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone

Cat-fights among actresses are not new in Bollywood. When actresses compete with each other, friendship obviously dies. They not only let their movies and box-office record to speak against one and another but also pass comments when get opportunity. Very few may know Sanjay Leela Bhansali first approached Kareena Kapoor before signing Deepika for ‘Ram Leela’. Kareena left ‘Ram Leela’ for ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’.

Talking about the same, Bebo said that she has no regret missing ‘Ram Leela’ and hopes for a next time. The actress also pulled Deepika’s leg by saying she is proud of herself for giving movies to other actresses.

"I confess that I'm mad. There have been times when I've signed a film and then felt it was wrong. Yes, I was supposed to do 'Ram-Leela' but I changed my mind. I decided to do Gori... instead. With me, it's all about the mood. There are no regrets, I've worked with some really good directors. I've missed the chance to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. But there's always a next time. I'm the only actress who can boast of giving films to other actresses," Kareena Kapoor told this to Deccan Chronicle.

‘Ram Leela’ proved to be Deepika Padukone’s third consecutive hit in a row after, ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘’Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. The long legged actress was highly applauded for her acting caliber. With ‘Ram Leela’, the dusky beauty has firmed her foot in Bollywood.

Kareena’s ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ is yet to see the light of the day and the actress is pinning high hopes for the film’s success.
Let’s see who wins the box-office race, Kareena or Deepika?

When Tanishaa Mukerji proposed Armaan Kohli : ‘Bigg Boss 7’

New Delhi: After becoming the talk of the town for their closeness on the reality TV show Bigg Boss, it seems that Tanishaa Mukerji and Armaan Kohli are in no mood to back off from growing closer to each other despite repeated subtle warnings even from host Salman Khan.

The duo was an item in the house along with co-inmates Gauahar Khan and Kushal tendon. But their ‘friendship’ hit a rough patch when Ajaz Khan entered the house. Armaan got upset when he saw Tanishaa getting friendly with Ajaz. But Tanishaa was able to read Armaan’s mind and soon realised that it was better keeping away from Ajaz.

Now, it seems that the couple is keen on moving a step ahead in their relationship. In one of the recently episodes of the show, Tanishaa proposed her love for Armaan albeit in an indirect way. In reply, when Armaan asked her how much percent she loved him, Tanishaa went speechless and started blushing.

So should we go by these signs to believe that the couple is indeed in love or do we still have to wait for the real drama to unfold? Let’s wait and watch.

Will Aamir Khan’s Dhoom:3 be the first film to break Krrish 3’s box office record?

Hrithik Roshan’s superhero film has re-written box office records. The movie surpassed the collection of Chennai Express and is now Bollywood’s highest grosser of all time. But with Dhoom:3 around the corner, we wonder if Krrish 3 will be able to retain its top position…

Rakesh Roshan’s sci-fi superhero film starring Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Kangna Ranaut and Vivek Oberoi has shattered all domestic box office records. Krrish 3 which released just before Diwali on November 1 has grossed Rs 235.22 crore net so far at the Indian box office and Rs 269 crore net worldwide. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “Krrish 3 Weekend 3 breakup: Fri 2.44 cr,Sat 3.02 cr, Sun 3.76 cr. Grand total: Rs. 235.22 cr nett. All Time Blockbuster… All versions.” Earlier this year, Shahrukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer Chennai Express broke 3 Idiots’ record to become the highest grossing film. While it took four years for a film to break the record of Aamir starrer, Hrithik’s film took over in no time. However, there is a possibility of Mr Perfectionist regaining the top spot with his much-awaited film Dhoom:3. The film has already created great buzz and who knows it may well end up raking in Rs 300 crore and create more records. After all, sequels are doing wonders at the box office, it seems, hai na?

Whether Dhoom:3 breaks Krrish 3’s record is yet to be seen. but for now, papa Roshan and beta Hrithik can enjoy all the adulation, succes.

Soha Ali Khan : I have worn bikini, apsara outfit in upcoming movie 'Mr Joe B. Carvalho'

Soha Ali Khan has not just worn a bikini in her upcoming film Mr Joe B. Carvalho, but has also grooved to a cabaret number. She says she has added her own touch to it.

Soha's mother, veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, also featured in a cabaret years back in "An Evening In Paris", the same film in which she even flaunted a bikini.

But Soha says she didn't take any cues from her.

"My mother did a cabaret some 40 years back. So she is a trendsetter. I did not talk to her about mine but I am sure she will like it. It is very elegant and I did it my way," she said in Mumbai.

At the first look launch of the film Saturday, Soha Ali Khan also said that in the entire film she has not worn a normal outfit even once.

"It's not just a bikini, I have not worn even one normal costume in the film. There is a police costume, apsara outfit, cabaret costume, a towel. But I did not get to wear a jeans or t-shirt," Soha said.

Directed by Samir Tewari, the film also stars Javed Jaffrey, Arshad Warsi and Geeta Basra. It hits theatres Jan 3, 2014.

Bollywood Actor Salman Khan secretly met Iulia in Romania?

Recently Salman Khan is said to have shot in Romania for 'Jai Ho'. Did he happen to bump into a certain Iulia Vantur?

Salman Khan was in Romania recently to shoot a song for his upcoming film, Jai Ho, along with his leading lady Daisy Shah. It looks like during the brief schedule of the film, the star might have managed to meet his estranged Romanian girlfriend, actress and TV presenter Iulia Vantur.

A source from the unit says, `Salman and his crew spent almost a week in Romania to shoot a romantic number. He also met Iulia.`

The buzz about Sallu and Iulia began last year when she was spotted with him. He apparently struck a friendship with her during his visit to Romania last year and when she visited India, Iulia reportedly stayed in his house.

Later, she was spotted during the Hyderabad schedule of Jai Ho with him on his sets and on shopping trips. She would also sport his charity T-shirts to show her loyalty towards him. The rumour was that Salman was keen to tie the knot with Iulia but his family was against the idea. Later, she went back to her country, apparently after an amicable break-up. In an online interaction with his friends, Salman had revealed recently that he is still friends with her.

So, when Salman visited Romania, it seemed obvious that he would try and catch up with Iulia. According to a unit member, `Salman is quite popular in Romania. The video of him checking into a hotel has gone viral. A lot of fans would gather around the shoot location to catch a glimpse of him.`

Will this visit rekindle a romance? Let's wait and watch.

Chitrangada Singh said “I would love to play a supergirl, not a sidekick,"

Not one to play the sidekick, actor Chitrangada Singh believes in being at the helm of affairs. The actress who refused to play the role eventually essayed by Kangana Ranaut in Krrish 3 stands by her decision. “I would love to play a supergirl, not a sidekick," said the actress in an exclusive interview with us.

Married to golfer Jyoti Randhawa for more than a decade now, she said marriage should not change a person. How does she balance her image as a sex symbol with her married life? “It is really about being yourself. I don’t think you can give up being who you are when you are married."

As for feminism, the actress said, "I don’t wanna burn bras, I want one! Trying to be a man is such a waste of being woman. Equality with men doesn't mean I have to be one."

Coming to the other important relationship in her life – that with her mentor and film-maker Sudhir Mishra. He gave the actor her first break in Hazaron Khwahishein Aisi in 2003. "Sudhir doesn’t judge women characters -- how virtuous or virginal she needs to be. The women characters in his films are very modern, without being western. Such roles have so much of grey and yet they don't let you look wrong. He justifies them being where they are."

Incidentally, the only film in her kitty right now is Mishra’s Pehle Aap Janab (earlier titled Mehrunnisa). “Unfortunately, Sudhir Misra’s Mehrunnisa is pushed again because of some reasons," she said. The shooting of the film was supposed to begin by August.

Chitrangada opened up about the kind of roles she is offered and those that she would wants to do. "Film-makers often typecast us in the roles that have worked. So, I mostly receive offers that are on the lines of Hazaron Khwahishein Aisi. But, I think as an actor, you want to experiment with characters and roles. Even the audience would be bored if I repeat my roles."

She further elaborated that she would love to do comedies and thrillers as these are yet unexplored genres for her.

When asked about her one role she would love to do, Chitrangada waxed eloquent about Muzaffar Ali's Umrao Jaan. "Everytime I see Umrao Jaan, I wish I could have done that film. Ali makes you smell and feel the place. If  I could be that (Umrao Jaan), play that role, with Muzaffar directing the way he did, I would love it.”

Actor Kushal Tandon to reenter in Bigg Boss house tomorrow?

Actor Kushal Tandon, who was eliminated from Bigg Boss in the last week of October for his alleged violent behaviour against inmate Andy, is reentering the house.

While there have been speculations over his re-entry since his eviction, we can now tell you the actor will return to the house tomorrow. Incidentally, the actor was all set to go back a couple of weeks back but it was delayed owing to some confusion.

Says the source, "There have been a lot of reports hinting at simmering issues between Kushal and the host of the show, Salman Khan. Kushal's quotes were tweaked and were presented in a manner that made it look like the actor was trying to cash in on the controversy. However, that's not true. Salman is never involved in the entries and exit during the course of the show. His entry is expected to bring the much needed energy inside the house. The boss has finally granted Gauahar's wish."

To those uninitiated, Gauahar was seen crooning 'Mera Kuchh Samaan Tumhare Pass Pada Hai' on the show, which was hinted at Kushal."

Despite repeated attempts, we couldn't reach the actor for his comment on the news.

Imran Khan : Don't blame Bollywood Industry for society's ills

Bollywood actor Imran Khan says movies are often made a "soft target" and blamed for society's ills.

Imran, 30, feels such problems can be solved only through education and change in mindset.

"Blaming cinema for the ills in society is a very simplistic outlook. Movies are a soft target and the film industry is not able to fight back. We are held victims to a mob mentality," Khan told PTI here. Khan was in the city to promote his upcoming film 'Gori Tere Pyaar Mein', a romantic comedy that stars Kareena Kapoor as his leading lady, directed by Punit Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar.

Amid growing incidents of violence and abuse against women in India, a section of the society has put the blame on song, lyrics and choreography in movies, saying they are disrespectful towards women. Khan is known for his support for social causes including organising voter drives to get people to cast their ballots. "To vote is the smallest thing that you can do to be part of the democratic process.

If you do not vote you have no right to complain. You cannot sit and mourn about the state of the country if you have not cast your vote," he said. The 'Delhi Belly' star said that the Indian film industry is currently going through a renaissance and is at a transitional phase where movie makers and actors are experimenting with storytelling and filmmaking.

"It is the best of all possible times and it is only getting better. There is an audience for films which we thought nobody would be interested in, it is a renaissance," the actor said. Khan also said it is unfortunate that movies and actors often face opposition by sections of society that raise objection to a word in the film's title or lyrics, claiming they are disrespectful or derogatory in nature.

"It happens time and again, we are forced to change song lyrics, forced to change titles of movies. Ultimately you are being ruled by the fear of a mob, who will come burn a theatre or stone houses in protest," he said.

Having worked in movies like 'Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola' and 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobara', Khan said the year 2013 was a time of 'tremendous growth' for him as an actor, "I want to keep doing work that makes me happy and one that I will not be ashamed of later in life," he said.

Bollywod Actor Ranveer Singh, Bollywood's upcoming superstar

When Ranveer Singh jumped onto the rippling six-pack bandwagon for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ambitious Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-leela, he made heads turn with the image makeover. Here was an all-new Ranveer, very different from the guy-next-door charm we saw in Band Baaja Baaraat or the swanky conman of Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl or the very retro antihero he played in Lootera.

Ram-leela has opened to a good response and Ranveer is happy about the audience accepting his new image. If the effort was to reach out to the masses after his first two films - both primarily targetting the city multiplexes - he seems to have done it. The film opened to a 15-crore first-day collection and has done business of over Rs.50 crore over the opening weekend. The trade predicts it will cross the 100-crore mark by the first week.
"Unbelievable response ! Truly overwhelming !," Ranveer described his emotions at the popular response to his latest effort on a social networking site. He is also humbled by the praise coming in from industry stalwarts. From Amitabh Bachchan to Farah Khan, they have all hailed the budding superstar in town.

Ranveer has modestly stated he only has the veteran Bhansali to thank for, for his show of impact. "Ram Leela was strong on creativity. Sanjay Leela Bhansali gave me the freedom to bring out a classic performance. I got my space to explore the nuances of my character," he says.

Despite his lately-acquired impressive bulk, romance seems to remain Ranveer's forte. Ram-leela was a romance rehashing the Romeo-Juliet template. His past films, Lootera, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl and Band Baaja Baaraat were all love stories at heart. But Ranveer's image as a loverboy is not only all about his films. The excessive promotion of Ram-leela, during which his reported 'affair' with heroine Deepika Padukone has been played up as a publicity tool, has also worked at rendering that image.

"I know I am young and single but you can't just keep focussing on my personal life all the time. People give their own spin to a story while observing us from a distance. All these link-ups are taxing. I love doing movies but the gossip just comes along as extra baggage in this profession," says Ranveer.

Deepika and Ranveer, despite being clicked in cosy poses over the past few months, have steadily been in denial mode about their alleged link up. Ranveer, though, has also made news for his link-up reports with Anushka Sharma, co-star of his first two films.

Contrary to popular belief, Ranveer is not wholly an outsider in Bollywood. Born Ranveer Bhavnani, he is a cousin of actress Sonam Kapoor from the latter's mother's side. The connection did help somewhat in gaining a foothold. Among those who noticed the innate sparks about him was Yash Raj Films honcho Aditya Chopra, who would eventually launch him in Band Baaja Baaraat and also produced Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl.

No surprises that YRF have again cast their blue-eyed protege in the upcoming Gunday, where he shares screens pace with Arjun Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. The film is slated for a February 2014 release, and Ranveer is excited because the script has given him full scope to get into action mode.
"I am doing a lot of stunts in Gunday and I simply love myself in action mode. I feel so comfortable with the genre," he says.

Armed with a degree in acting from the United States, Ranveer Singh's first stint in Bollywood was working as an assistant director to Shaad Ali. This Bombay boy briefly struggled to find a foothold in the industry despite his filmy connections. Finally, when Band Baaja Baaraat happened in 2010, he got just the right kickstart.

With Ram-leela he is seeing a marked increase in his fan base what with the masses enjoying his act as Bollywood's latest stud. He is cautious about future plans, though.

"I will sign a film only if the script interests me. I am planning to experiment with new characters from now on," he explains, about what kind of roles he would like to seek after courting romance and action in his releases so far.

Coming up after Gunday is Shaad Ali's Kill Dil, a romantic comedy that casts Ranveer along with Govinda, Rani Mukerji and Parineeti Chopra. He also has Zoya Akhtar's next in the pipeline.
