R Madhavan, Huma Qureshi, rush to IFFI to meet Susan Sarandon
Actor R Madhavan said he rushed to attend this year's India International Film Festival (IFFI) to meet Hollywood star Susan Sarandon.
"The first reason to be here is to see Susan. That's the main thing. It is not everyday that you get to see a Hollywood star like her come to our country," a very excited Madhavan said, who was seen in a new rugged avatar.
When asked if the new look was for a movie, the 43-year-old actor refused to divulge any details.
'Ek Thi Daayan' actress Huma Qureshi also attended the opening ceremony of the 44th edition of IFFI and expressed her love for the veteran Hollywood diva.
"I am really looking forward to meet Susan. I love her movies and I am glad that I have been invited to attend the ceremony. I am also honoured to have been asked to share the stage with her for a discussion on evolution of women in cinema," Huma said.

Kareena Kapoor asked Salman Khan to remove his shirt and flaunt his body : Big Boss 7
She also asked him to remove his shirt and flaunt his body
Kareena and Imran danced with the inmates of the house and were seen have a rocking time with them. The Kapoor girl even confessed that her mother- Babita- is a big fan of the show and that her favourite contestant is Andy.
After spending some time with the inmates, the duo interacted with Salman Khan, who was in a mood to poke fun at his ‘Bodyguard’ co-star. Kareena was prompt enough in responding to his witty one-liners. As Salman kept pulling Kareena’s leg by addressing her as “Mrs Saif Pataudi”, the latter asked the ‘Dabangg’ superstar to get married.
She also asked him to remove his shirt and flaunt his body. A shy Salman, couldn’t stop blushing as the live audience present on the sets went berserk in anticipation of seeing his take off his shirt.
However, the audiences present out there couldn’t really see him flaunt his torso, as Salman turned the other way while trying to show his four pack to Kareena, who insisted on taking a look at it. But after seeing Salman’s abs, Kareena said that Saif’s ab is better!

Imran Khan : I believe acting is like exercising
Excited about his new film Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, the honey-eyed Khan spoke to us extensively about being paired with Kareena Kapoor Khan once again and how he is learning more about his craft with new projects coming his way…
Check out the entire interview regarding Imran Khan:
Imran Khan walks into the room holding a plastic plate. The freshly steamed sweet potatoes, the baked tuna fish and a couple of sticks of steamed asparagus that are his lunch make the hot samosas in a bowl on the side-table look like manna from culinary heaven. The 30-year-old actor looks long and hard at the fried snacks, shakes his head in disapproval and whips out a fork and a spoon from his bag before digging in to his specially designed healthy diet. He is on a strict regimen that demands him to be careful with what he eats. So as we enjoy a cup of coffee with the delightful samosas while sitting in the Dharma Productions office, Imran talks about the soon-to-release Gori Tere Pyaar Mein in between bites of his gourmet feast….
Our secret birdie tells us that you were not particularly excited about the role you are playing in Gori Tere Pyaar Mein when you first read the script. Is that right?
No. Actually, I did not like the second half the movie. I loved the first half. While reading the script, suddenly I realised that Punit Malhotra’s film moves from a happy rom-com kind of space to a village. I had apprehensions about that sudden switch. But Punit was adamant about what he wanted. I made him do two more drafts to see if he could come up with something else, but still I wasn’t kicked about the second half. And then Punit called me one day and said that he had made one more draft and wanted me to read it again. This time, I realised that I was settling for less in the beginning. I wanted the film to be one more I Hate Love Stories kind of film, but Punit wanted more layers to the story. He wanted more emotions and he was insisting on that. Finally, I agreed with Punit’s vision and the way he had envisaged the project
So far you have done mainly light-hearted entertainers. This film is again a romantic comedy. Is this genre more up your alley?
Yes. That’s the reason I can connect very easily with Punit – because we have the same sense of humour that is very urban and subtle. Actually, Punit wanted Saif to work in this movie too, but that did not work out. I think Punit understands my style as an actor and I understand him as a director. I know exactly what he wants, so I can deliver quicker.

Did you enjoy working with Kareena again?
People have appreciated our chemistry in Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu. About chemistry, I have a rule- you can’t create it. It’s either there or it isn’t. I believe as an actor if you have to have chemistry with someone, it has to be with Kareena Kapoor!
If Imran Khan has to judge himself in terms of his craft and his achievements, where is he today?
I believe acting is like exercising. The more often you do it, the more comfortable you feel. You can’t do a full a split straightaway. Karte karte ho jaata hain. I am happy with personal growth and I am happy with what I have learned so far, but I am not satisfied. I feel more confident now. I know what I am doing now more than ever before. Initially, so many things would overwhelm me. You need to know where the camera is. You need to where you are supposed to stand and how much you can afford to move, so that you don’t go out of the frame. With more films, you are at ease.
Would it be correct to say that Imran Khan enjoys doing only romantic comedies, considering the choices you have made and your movies that have received a positive response?
Oh yes, comedy is my forte. More than romance, I think comedy works better for me, because I am not a romantic person in real life.
Does having one more male actor alongside help you improvise?
Oh yes. I had so much fun working with Akshay Kumar in Once Upon A time in Mumbai Dobaaraa. In Delhi Belly there were Kunal Roy Kapoor and Vir Das. In Mere Brother Ki Dulhan I worked with Ali Zafar. Working with boys is fun, because girls take more time to get ready for the shot. Their hair, makeup and costumes have to look prim and proper, but with boys it is different. You can pack your bags soon and go home quickly.
After Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, what next?
My next film is Bhavesh Joshi, which will be directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. He is still finishing his screenplay and we hope that we will start shooting by January or February next year. It’s a story of a rebel. It is not a superhero film or science fiction, as wrongly reported. There’s nothing supernatural about the film.
Aamir Khan’s Dhoom: 3 is making all the right noises. What’s your take on the trailer and the film?
The trailer looks mind blowing. Without a shadow of a doubt it’s the best action movie coming out of India.

In spite of Kushal Tandon's desperate plea to re-enter the house, Salman Khan is still dodging the decision
Looks like Salman Khan is still smarting about Kushal Tandon's claim about him apologising to him after how he was shunted out of Bigg Boss 7. Salman had expressed his displeasure at this not so long back.
Probably that's one of the reasons why Khan is refusing to react to the channel and the production house's request to get Kushal back in the show. Kushal apparently is getting more and more desperate as he has been waiting eagerly for a while now.
A source says, `The channel and the production team is constantly in touch with Salman to convince him to get Kushal back. So far their efforts have been in vain. The unit will discuss it again with Salman and see if he has changed his mind when he comes back to shoot for the show.`
Adds the source, `Kushal had a meeting with the channel recently to discuss his re-entry in the show. He is keen to get back and ready to go in without any pre-conditions. Earlier, he had felt that he was being targetted and Salman was being soft on the other contestants, but now he's even ready to take back his words.`
The buzz is that the makers are all set to play up his budding romance with another contestant, Gauhaur Khan, in the house. They were ready to send him when his ex-girlfriend model Candy Brar was in the house, but she made a quick exit. But looks like Salman is in no hurry to forgive and forget.

Kareena Kapoor Khan : The first drink I had was with my father in Boston in America
Kareena Kapoor Khan, 33, could be perceived as bold, but in reality, she operates from her heart and is a person who has always made her decisions emotionally. She is upfront, traditional, understanding and ambitious and is the only actress to have admitted to having a live-in relationship. While she loves acting, travelling and meeting friends is her oxygen. She has never shied away from having a personal life, apart from her professional one. She is comfortable in her skin and has pride in her talent. Her mother is her oxygen tank and Saif, the mature factor in her life. Ahead of her upcoming film 'Gori Tere Pyaar Mein', she talks about her moohphat mother, her liberal father and why Lolo was Raj Kapoor's favourite. Excerpts:
How early did you know that you wanted to be an actress?
I think from the time I was in my mother's womb. My entire childhood was spent in front of the mirror, dancing to Madhuri and Sridevi songs or copying their expressions. There was never an option in my mind. I always wanted to be a movie star.

Being a Kapoor girl, did your family resist your becoming an actor?
Both my parents are very liberal and cosmopolitan. The first drink I had was with my father in Boston in America. I would love to sit and chat with him over a drink and he has been one of my best friends. My parents have never asked me about anything, be it what I want to do or where I am going. My mother has so much confidence in the way she has brought me up, that she knows I know my responsibilities. My mother always encouraged me and so did my father. In fact, my mother was very active in my sister Karisma's career.
At that time, my mother was a single parent and Lolo needed that encouragement. Lolo laid the foundation and I just reaped the benefits. Everyone did know me as Karisma's sister. Till date, many a time, people get confused and call me Karisma, and that for me is the biggest high as I love to be called her sister. I don't think there are any two siblings in Bollywood that have been so successful and we are both very proud of that. We are also very proud to have a mother like we do, as the reason we are successful is her.

Shahid Kapoor : If I like a girl, maybe I will settle down
Actor Shahid Kapoor says that he will settle down if he finds the right girl.

Shahid was in relationship with actress Kareena Kapoor for a long time.

Gulshan Devaiah’s earring woes in movie Ramleela
Not everything went well for Gulshan Devaiah, who plays the chief antagonist in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram-leela. Since the movie is based in Gujarat , the actor had to wear traditional costumes and jewellery for the film. A key element of that look being earrings.
Gulshan was initially excited with the idea of wearing the heavy earrings as the script, the look and the director demanded it but soon realised that they were pressing against his ear lobes and as a result gave him headaches and radiating pain down his neck & shoulders. “I spent hours, days trying to manipulate the shape of the earrings to fit my ears comfortably but it just didn’t work. They were really painfully. I just had to put up with the pain it as the earrings were such an integral part of the brilliantly designed look.”
Gulshan plays the character of Bhavani. The movie is slated to release on 15th November, 2013.

Deepika Padukone said 'Both Salman, Shahrukh are fond of me'
Deepika Padukone has had an amazing run in 2013, what with four big films (Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express and now Goliyon Ki Ras Leela, Ram-Leela) to her name. And she's been more than just the pretty female lead; her acting has been noteworthy too.
Here, she talks about success, wanting to work with Salman Khan, and why that won't really upset the other Khan, Shah Rukh.
To set the record straight, are you doing Sooraj Barjatya's next with Salman Khan?
No, I haven't been approached or met Soorajji, neither have I met Salman recently. So I don't know where these stories are coming from. Having said that, I really am looking forward to doing something with Salman because I feel it's overdue.
Some people wondered why you weren't on his reality show to promote your recent film.
It's unfortunate that I couldn't go on Bigg Boss. I was in Goa shooting for my next film, so Ranveer (Singh; co-star) had to go alone.

Do you feel - as reports suggest - that if you work with Salman, Shah Rukh Khan may not like it?
Absolutely not. Forget about me, it makes them sound immature, which they are not. Salman and Shah Rukh are fond of me and I'm fond of them. And I think they both are happy for me as far as my work is concerned. I don't think one would have an issue if I work with the other.
It has been a long time since Ranbir Kapoor and you broke up. Are you open to the possibility of a new relationship?
Not soon. Of course, you can't plan such things. But I'm not ready to emotionally invest, and I won't be able to do justice to a relationship I get into. I'm happy focusing my energies on my work. I don't feel the need to be in a relationship
You've had four big releases this year. Do you feel you're ahead in the race right now?

You've had four big releases this year. Do you feel you're ahead in the race right now?
It feels nice when people appreciate your work. But it's just the beginning. I believe I still have a lot more to achieve. I've never been concerned about what anyone else is doing. I have always focused on what I am doing, and bettering myself with each film.
Would you say your role as Leela has been your toughest to date?
Yes, so far, but I wonder what the future has in store. Until Ram-Leela happened, it was Cocktail. My part in Chennai Express was again out of my comfort zone.
Some time ago you stated that you liked working with Ranveer better than with Ranbir?
No, I have had a great time working with both. I don't think I'm in any position to say who I have better chemistry with. In Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, my co-star's role was different; even the two films are different. So it's not fair to compare.

Ram-Leela review
I wouldn’t want to be Leela in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gujarati Disneyland called Ranjhor. Even in a world that is as absurd as Mallika Sherawat’s “Swayamvar” or as hypothetical as Rahul Gandhi‘s Prime Ministership, this is an impossibly tall claim to make. By denouncing Bhansali’s lovely Nerolac-perfect world, here’s what I’m giving up: an Incredible India-meets-Buckingham Palace house, a balcony that is tailor-made for the most traffic-stopping Facebook DPs, a collection of bandhni lehengas for which I would give up chocolate. And a lover boy like Ranveer Singh – cocky, just tolerably silly, a fine wear-er of shirts with prints I wouldn’t buy cushion-covers in, rustic phrase-turner extraordinaire, abs made in heaven, abs made in heaven, (okay shoulders too)… in short: just right!
Leela’s script in Sanjay Leela Bhansal’s Goliyon Ka Raas Leela Ram Leela takes off as a feminist’s, girl-rocker’s, closet man-hater’s dream come true. The closest contemporary Bollywood has come to defining ‘stud-woman’, Leela is the blinding gorgeousness that is Deepika Padukone. When she runs into the bronzed-brawn Ram (Singh) in this tripping-on-testosterone Gujarat village, sparks fly. For context, this village has two communities with a 500-year-old enmity. Why they are baying for each other’s blood is as consequential as asking who selected Rakhi’s wig in Karan Arjun.
So all-hotness Ram is your textbook Bollywood lover. While the rest of the men want to kill, he is busy showing off his scrupulously sculpted thorax to swooning women. He also runs a blue film parlour whose decor is Andy Warhol’s dream-come-true. When men are on the verge of killing each other, he grabs the nozzle of the gun to stop bloodshed (cue to go ‘awww’). And in a khap-like meet (that is, if khaps were made up of men in white, dressed like Bollywood back-up dancers), Ram is all Bombay tapori, with his printed shirt, goggles, low slung jeans, glorious hair et al.
True to his character, he decides to go play Holi in the “enemy’s quarters”. And that’s where he sets his sights upon Leela. Leela, who wears cholis that will make the rest of us want to strangle our tailors for their ineptitude. Leela, who glides in tonnes-heavy lehengas across stairs and balconies. Leela, whose smiles could kill. Leela, who spots Ram and is gobsmacked. Ram is fully clothed, smiling like a buffoon, his hair flying and doing the shampoo ad gig. In a few seconds they are flirting like nobody’s business with Leela planting a kiss on lover boy’s mouth. And all this happens in a few minutes, even according to reel time.
As I struggle to understand what about Ram throws Leela off that quick, I turn to personal moments of epiphany and conclude that since Milind Soman has been relegated to selling aftershaves while half-naked in inane ads, and Hrithik Roshan has undone every minute spent on the treadmill with a thing called Krrish3 and Sachin Tendulkar is retiring, it makes no sense to let a good-ish looking man slip. Ogle-worthy men, like onions in India, are indeed endangered species. So Leela loses no time in going for the kill. The rational woman in me, after a moment’s thought, mutters, “Nicely done!” Then, Leela goes on to valiantly explore and establish the ‘goodish-ness’ by pawing all over this new-found, extremely paw-able man. Again, my heart mutters, a little jealously, “Niiiiicely done.”
But oh good lord, what happens after? In a ‘goliyon ka raas leela’ sequence, lover girl’s brother bumps off lover boy’s brother. In retaliation, lover boy bumps off the said killer brother. And that’s when stud-female does a quick rewind and goes back to being Bollywood heroine. Here when I was just starting to ward of extreme jealously and applaud Leela’s stud-dom, Bhansali quickly makes her degenerate into a simpering, picturesque woman whose eyes are perennially as watery, like ours are while chopping onions. From someone who grabs the boy’s butt with the kind of zest with which most of us pick up cheesecake, one who throws caution to the winds and shows up at Ram’s video parlour to make out, who doesn’t wait for the man to make the first move, Leela is reduced to a woman who is unsure about spending a night with her lover under the same room, unmarried. Here’s where I die a bit and tweet to all dare-you-defile-Ram brigade that all is well with their world. Purity and morality are intact in Bollywood. And that is more heartbreaking to me than Bhansali’s baffling spin on the all-too-familiar storyline of Romeo and Juliet. Gah, Bhansali even gives Leela a balcony Juliet would kill for!
Since it declares right at the outset that it is inspired by Romeo and Juliet, there’s not much by way of suspense as the film builds up to its climax. It doesn’t help that Bhansali sets a his story in a world as believable as Hogwarts and gives you a setting which you’re told is somewhere near Kutch, but looks suspiciously like the insides of a very expensive and beautiful, India-themed restaurant abroad. What is this place where they stock bullets in biscuit tins? What is this place where they make Kalashnikov-like rifles and sell them in a fish market-ish system? Where is this place where they have Chhau dancers from Odisha in a Ram Leela procession? You want to believe every bit of it because its all so stunning. Even police raids are picturesque here, thanks to a red shower of, wait for it, chilli powder. How does a village subsist on a gun-market and blue-film parlour? Does Ranjhor even belong to this world? Perhaps like the director himself, we don’t know where Ram and Leela come from.
In a time when noir has been defined by visceral works like Gangs of Wasseypur or a trippy Shanghai, Ram Leela is almost like that chick-flick pretending to be noir, or a noir killed by its secret wish to be a romantic musical. For all its beauty, it’s a baffling film.

Aamir Khan says he loves romancing tall women
He may not be very tall himself, but Aamir Khan Tuesday revealed that he enjoys working with actresses who tower over him.
In 'Dhoom 3', Aamir will be seen romancing tall and beautiful Katrina Kaif.
