Anil Kapoor, happy birthday! turns 57 today

Born on December 24, 1956, Anil Kapoor has been working in the industry for over 30 years now. The actor’s first film as a lead actor was a Telugu film called Vamsa Vruksham in 1980. Following this he did Yash Chopra’s Mashaal in 1984 which won him a lot of accolades and also got him his first award. After this film, Kapoor was a part of various successful films like Tezaab, Beta, Woh Saat Din, Meri Jung, Jaanbaaz, Karma, Mr India, Virasat, Taal, Pukar No Entry, Welcome, Race among many others.

Apart from Bollywood, the Welcome actor was also a part of acclaimed Hollywood projects such as Danny Boyle’s Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire and Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol. While working on Hollywood films, the actor also did the eighth season of the American show 24. His performance earned him a lot of appreciation from the international press. Following the success of the American show, he also did the Indian edition of 24 where he played Jai Singh Rathore. The first season of the show is just over and Kapoor will begin work on the second season of the show in January 2014. Apart from this, Kapoor is also working on the Welcome Back starring John Abraham, Shruti Hassan and Dimple Kapadia.

Shahid Afridi Wants An Explanation : Total Siyapaa

The trailer of upcoming film Total Siyapaa has earned rave reviews from the audience and in one of its dialogues the lead actor of the movie, Ali Zafar says that even Pakistani's are tired of Shahid Afridi. And the Pakistani cricketer has now demanded an explanation for the same.

Afridi recently saw the trailer of the film and now he is very keen to know in what context his name has been used in the movie and reportedly, he  has also written to Reliance Entertainment regarding the same. The makers of the movie however, are quite confident that it will be taken in absolute jest.

Ali Zafar says, "The banter shown in the trailer is just a part of a conversation between the lead actors and it surely doesn't end there. There is a lot more in the film than just that. I am sure people are going to have a lot of fun watching Total Siyapaa.. Wait and watch it.”

Directed by Ehsvar Niwas, the film stars Yaami Gautam opposite Zafar.

'Dhoom 3' Collects Rs 100cr in just 3 days


'Dhoom: 3' enters Rs 100 club in just 3 days Indian Express ‎- 3

2013's most awaited movie Dhoom: 3 has zoomed into the box office and is breaking all previous records. After breaking the opening day record of Chennai Express, the movie has now broken  made over 100 crores in just three days, breaking the previous record of four days set by Krrish 3 this year.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: So here's the opening weekend total of #Dhoom3... India Rs 107.61 cr Overseas Rs 62.95 cr. Worldwide total: Rs 170.56 cr. HISTORIC!

He also added: Dhoom 3 - Sunday: Hindi Rs. 36.09 cr, Tamil & Telugu Rs. 1.94 cr. Sunday total: Rs. 38.03 cr. Grand total: Rs. 107.61 cr nett. Fantabulous

Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the third instalment of Yash Raj Films' popular Dhoom franchise came out on Friday (December 20, 2013) and broke all previous opening day records at the box office. It had minted a total of Rs 36.22 crore at the box office beating the record set by Chennai Express set at Rs 33.12 crores. The movie made Rs 33.36 crore on Saturday and Rs 38.09 on Sunday, an official statement said.

2013, it seems, is the year for box office records to be shattered. After three years at the top of the biggest moneyspinners list, Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots found itself dislodged by Shah Rukh's Chennai Express which in turn was been toppled by Hrithik Roshan's Krrish 3. The superhero film, which opened on November 1, 2013, has collected Rs 228.23 crores in 15 days, making it the top earning Bollywood film in India. Chennai Express made Rs 226.70 cr and 3 Idiots, Rs 202.57 cr.

All eyes are now on the much hyped Dhoom: 3 which may well shatter all records to close 2013 with a big bang.
