Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan criticise Karan Johar for AIB Roast!

The All India Bakchod’s celebrity roast show AIB Knockout hasn’t gone down well with the Khans
Reports suggest that both Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are upset with Karan Johar‘s involvement in the roast show of Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, videos of which were later uploaded on YouTube. They both allegedly called up the Student Of The Year director to express their disapproval regarding Karan’s presence at the roast especially with his mother Hiroo Johar sitting in the front row. Both the Khans asked KJo how he could make jokes like he did in front of his mother like that.

But after having shot the show with the All India Bakchod team and watching the video on YouTube, KJo told his close friends that his mother had no problems with the jokes that were being cracked on the show. In fact she enjoyed the AIB roast a lot!

Karan Johar played the roast master on the AIB Knockout and the most scandalous moment for the audience was when Ranveer smooched KJo on stage, a scene which was edited out from the show video on YouTube. Day before yesterday the All India Bakchod team had taken the roast.

Find The Song ‘JASHN E ISHQA’ from ‘GUNDAY’

The first song of YRF’s upcoming flick ‘Gunday’ is out. The song is composed by Sohail Sen and sung by Javed Ali & Shadab Faridi. The song is good and it’s high on energy.

The video features both the lead actors, Ranveer Singh & Arjun Kapoor. Visually the song is strictly ok and the choreography could have been better.

Gunday - Photoshoot Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor

Gunday - Photoshoot Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor

If only local goons looked this sizzling hot, we’d never be scared of them, hai na? Don’t miss this unseen video

Two hotties from Bollywood – Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor will be sharing screen space with the hottest woman, Priyanka Chopra in the upcoming film, Gunday. Recently, we came across Gunday’s behind the scene shots and we were quite impressed. Both, Ranveer and Arjun have such sexy bods that all through the video, we could only drool. Actually, the Ram-Leela actor’s body is more toned and sexier. The credit could go to his duskier shade and rugged avatar. After all, we all like bad guys, no? Wink, wink! Lean man Singh and a bit heavier Kapoor have a string screen presence and it’s difficult to take our eyes off them. It’s even more difficult to choose who to look at.

Through the video, Ranveer Singh has given a variety of expressions, which are intimidating like a goon yet so sensuous! Arjun too looks like a mean lad. One of the shots that we especially love is the one in which the Ram-Leela actor is posing as if he were running and boy, he takes our heart away! Quirky expressions by the super-hot duo are a part of the video too and we like it. And then Ranveer and Arjun are seen in pristine white clothes, in which they look like powerful dons. Their attitude and gait is something you certainly shouldn’t miss.

Gunday Trailer - Ranveer Singh | Arjun Kapoor | Priyanka Chopra

Watch the Gunday trailer out here:

After directing a rom-com ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’, Ali Abbas Zafar takes a step forward with his second venture ‘Gunday’, starring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan. The film is an action flick with romance being an integral part of it.

The trailer of the film is out and it’s impressive. The trailer explains each and every character very well. Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor both are looking good but it's Ranveer who steals the trailer with his act. Priyanka shines in the scope given to her in the trailer and Irrfan Khan also seems to be good in his role.

With so many talented actors and YRF name attached with the film, the expectations are quite high. The film will be hitting the screens on 14th Feb 2014.

Homi Adjania Forcefully Kisses Deepika Padukone

Homi Adjania Forcefully Kisses Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone, who is riding high with the recent success of her film Ram Leela and Chennai Express had to apparently face a 'not so comfortable' situation when Homi Adajania, director of Finding Fanny kept kissing Deepika against her wishes.

Bollywood, on a daily basis comes up with interesting stories and gossips about celebrities, especially when there are parties and bashes! Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were at Homi Adajania's party last night to celebrate the wrapping up of Homi's upcoming film Finding Fanny, with Deepika in the lead.

According to a daily, Homi was apparently very tipsy and couldn't stop kissing Deepika on her cheek inspite of her constantly saying 'No'. Well, fortunately, Deepika too took it in the right spirit and was seen smiling and having fun at the party.

Deepika's rumoured boyfriend, Ranveer Singh made a late entry and was not witness of this Homi's overtly show of affection towards Dips! Well, Homi...you are lucky!!

Anyways, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone partied together till midnight and later went to their apartment where they again partied with close friends till the early hours of the morning. The two however left Homi's party in different cars to avoid the media glare.

Ram-Leela' is a giant leap forward : Ranveer

Ranveer Singh is more relieved than elated with all the appreciation he has received as Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram. He has tasted what he always heard is the effect of a good Friday on an actor, as he is flooded with offers. But what has given him a high is a hand-written note from his idol Amitabh Bachchan. He talks to TOI about the role of Ram-Leela in his life. Excerpts:

What has the success of Ram-Leela meant for you?

Fortunately, I had a good first step with 'Band Baaja Baaraat'. But I understand that 'Ram-Leela' is a giant leap forward. It comes with the way the world perceives it, where performance is one aspect, but it also has to do with the numbers. The numbers give me a commercial standing that will empower me to make braver decisions. There is no feeling of great elation. It's more relief on many levels. I have put so much into this movie and the stakes are kind of high due to the stature of the director, because of the budget of the film and because of the stage in my career at which this has come. This film is the coming together of all the films I have done so far and has the vulnerability and intensity of my character in 'Lootera', the chuttapan of the character in 'Band Baaja Baaraat' and the sexiness of the character in 'Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl'. The opportunity to work in 'Ram-Leela' was fantastic as it allowed me to do the romance, the comedy, the song-and-dance, the action, the drama and show my vulnerability, anger and intensity, all in one film.

ranveer singh talks about his superhit film ramleela

You are an uninhibited performer. Are you also like that in real life?

The first thing they make you do in an acting class is a 'lose your inhibition' exercise. In order to act, you have to shed your inhibitions. But, what do you do with a person who is already uninhibited? In my case, I was always like this ever since I was a kid. I was never ashamed of anything and was always confident of myself. I was a besharam, hamesha se.

Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela will be pulled off from the cinemas in Noida and Ghaziabad

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh starrer Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela will be pulled off from the cinemas in Noida and Ghaziabad after the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court banned the screening of the film in UP until the words 'Ramleela' and 'Rasleela' are removed from the title.

Yogesh Raizada corporate head, Wave Cinemas, said, "It is a High Court ruling and we will abide by it. It will be applicable from today. Now, it is up to the distributor and production house to get the clearance from the court. But, commercially, it will not be a huge loss to us because it is the second week of the movie, and there are two big movies releasing today."

Rehan Ahmed of Big Cinemas said, "After getting a written notice, we will not be screening the movie, but I don't understand what is the parameter to ban the film now, a week after its release."

The judgement came over the the case filed by Maryada Purshottam Bhagwan Ramleela Samiti, Bahraich, on November 19, on wrong usage of the words Ramleela and Rasleela in the title.

Gunday - Teaser - Ranveer Singh | Arjun Kapoor | Priyanka Chopra

Check out the exploits of Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor in and as Gunday in this interesting teaser from the upcoming Yash Raj Films’ presentation :

The teaser opens with the formation of Bangladesh back in 1971. “Lakirein bahut ajeeb hoti hain. Khaal pe khich jaaein toh khoon nikaal deti hain, aur zameen par khich jaaein toh sarhadein bana deti hain,” the voiceover by Irrfan Khan tells us.

From the exodus of refugees that pour into India from Bangladesh emerge two orphan kids and inseparable friends, Bikram and Bala. To eke out a living, the two waifs become gun couriers. From gunrunners, they go on to become coal bandits robbing freight trains of the black gold.

They grub a living for themselves doing all sorts of dirty jobs and then grow up as Calcutta’s most loved Gunday who are as reckless as fearless.

There’s trainloads of action and stunts in this teaser as we see Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor as the black market mafia-men ruling the seedy underworld with their sheer grit.

The beautiful canary in this coalmine is Priyanka Chopra, but we don’t get to see her in the teaser.

Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Aditya Chopra, Gunday is slated to release on 14th February 2014.

Ram-Leela review

I wouldn’t want to be Leela in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gujarati Disneyland called Ranjhor. Even in a world that is as absurd as Mallika Sherawat’s “Swayamvar” or as hypothetical as Rahul Gandhi‘s Prime Ministership, this is an impossibly tall claim to make. By denouncing Bhansali’s lovely Nerolac-perfect world, here’s what I’m giving up: an Incredible India-meets-Buckingham Palace house, a balcony that is tailor-made for the most traffic-stopping Facebook DPs, a collection of bandhni lehengas for which I would give up chocolate. And a lover boy like Ranveer Singh – cocky, just tolerably silly, a fine wear-er of shirts with prints I wouldn’t buy cushion-covers in, rustic phrase-turner extraordinaire, abs made in heaven, abs made in heaven, (okay shoulders too)… in short: just right!

Leela’s script in Sanjay Leela Bhansal’s Goliyon Ka Raas Leela Ram Leela takes off as a feminist’s, girl-rocker’s, closet man-hater’s dream come true. The closest contemporary Bollywood has come to defining ‘stud-woman’, Leela is the blinding gorgeousness that is Deepika Padukone. When she runs into the bronzed-brawn Ram (Singh) in this tripping-on-testosterone Gujarat village, sparks fly. For context, this village has two communities with a 500-year-old enmity. Why they are baying for each other’s blood is as consequential as asking who selected Rakhi’s wig in Karan Arjun.

So all-hotness Ram is your textbook Bollywood lover. While the rest of the men want to kill, he is busy showing off his scrupulously sculpted thorax to swooning women. He also runs a blue film parlour whose decor is Andy Warhol’s dream-come-true. When men are on the verge of killing each other, he grabs the nozzle of the gun to stop bloodshed (cue to go ‘awww’). And in a khap-like meet (that is, if khaps were made up of men in white, dressed like Bollywood back-up dancers), Ram is all Bombay tapori, with his printed shirt, goggles, low slung jeans, glorious hair et al.

True to his character, he decides to go play Holi in the “enemy’s quarters”. And that’s where he sets his sights upon Leela. Leela, who wears cholis that will make the rest of us want to strangle our tailors for their ineptitude. Leela, who glides in tonnes-heavy lehengas across stairs and balconies. Leela, whose smiles could kill. Leela, who spots Ram and is gobsmacked. Ram is fully clothed, smiling like a buffoon, his hair flying and doing the shampoo ad gig. In a few seconds they are flirting like nobody’s business with Leela planting a kiss on lover boy’s mouth. And all this happens in a few minutes, even according to reel time.

As I struggle to understand what about Ram throws Leela off that quick, I turn to personal moments of epiphany and conclude that since Milind Soman has been relegated to selling aftershaves while half-naked in inane ads, and Hrithik Roshan has undone every minute spent on the treadmill with a thing called Krrish3 and Sachin Tendulkar is retiring, it makes no sense to let a good-ish looking man slip. Ogle-worthy men, like onions in India, are indeed endangered species. So Leela loses no time in going for the kill. The rational woman in me, after a moment’s thought, mutters, “Nicely done!” Then, Leela goes on to valiantly explore and establish the ‘goodish-ness’ by pawing all over this new-found, extremely paw-able man. Again, my heart mutters, a little jealously, “Niiiiicely done.”

But oh good lord, what happens after? In a ‘goliyon ka raas leela’ sequence, lover girl’s brother bumps off lover boy’s brother. In retaliation, lover boy bumps off the said killer brother. And that’s when stud-female does a quick rewind and goes back to being Bollywood heroine. Here when I was just starting to ward of extreme jealously and applaud Leela’s stud-dom, Bhansali quickly makes her degenerate into a simpering, picturesque woman whose eyes are perennially as watery, like ours are while chopping onions. From someone who grabs the boy’s butt with the kind of zest with which most of us pick up cheesecake, one who throws caution to the winds and shows up at Ram’s video parlour to make out, who doesn’t wait for the man to make the first move, Leela is reduced to a woman who is unsure about spending a night with her lover under the same room, unmarried. Here’s where I die a bit and tweet to all dare-you-defile-Ram brigade that all is well with their world. Purity and morality are intact in Bollywood. And that is more heartbreaking to me than Bhansali’s baffling spin on the all-too-familiar storyline of Romeo and Juliet. Gah, Bhansali even gives Leela a balcony Juliet would kill for!

Since it declares right at the outset that it is inspired by Romeo and Juliet, there’s not much by way of suspense as the film builds up to its climax. It doesn’t help that Bhansali sets a his story in a world as believable as Hogwarts and gives you a setting which you’re told is somewhere near Kutch, but looks suspiciously like the insides of a very expensive and beautiful, India-themed restaurant abroad. What is this place where they stock bullets in biscuit tins? What is this place where they make Kalashnikov-like rifles and sell them in a fish market-ish system? Where is this place where they have Chhau dancers from Odisha in a Ram Leela procession? You want to believe every bit of it because its all so stunning. Even police raids are picturesque here, thanks to a red shower of, wait for it, chilli powder. How does a village subsist on a gun-market and blue-film parlour? Does Ranjhor even belong to this world? Perhaps like the director himself, we don’t know where Ram and Leela come from.

In a time when noir has been defined by visceral works like Gangs of Wasseypur or a trippy Shanghai, Ram Leela is almost like that chick-flick pretending to be noir, or a noir killed by its secret wish to be a romantic musical. For all its beauty, it’s a baffling film.

Bollywod Actor Ranveer Singh, Bollywood's upcoming superstar

When Ranveer Singh jumped onto the rippling six-pack bandwagon for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ambitious Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-leela, he made heads turn with the image makeover. Here was an all-new Ranveer, very different from the guy-next-door charm we saw in Band Baaja Baaraat or the swanky conman of Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl or the very retro antihero he played in Lootera.

Ram-leela has opened to a good response and Ranveer is happy about the audience accepting his new image. If the effort was to reach out to the masses after his first two films - both primarily targetting the city multiplexes - he seems to have done it. The film opened to a 15-crore first-day collection and has done business of over Rs.50 crore over the opening weekend. The trade predicts it will cross the 100-crore mark by the first week.
"Unbelievable response ! Truly overwhelming !," Ranveer described his emotions at the popular response to his latest effort on a social networking site. He is also humbled by the praise coming in from industry stalwarts. From Amitabh Bachchan to Farah Khan, they have all hailed the budding superstar in town.

Ranveer has modestly stated he only has the veteran Bhansali to thank for, for his show of impact. "Ram Leela was strong on creativity. Sanjay Leela Bhansali gave me the freedom to bring out a classic performance. I got my space to explore the nuances of my character," he says.

Despite his lately-acquired impressive bulk, romance seems to remain Ranveer's forte. Ram-leela was a romance rehashing the Romeo-Juliet template. His past films, Lootera, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl and Band Baaja Baaraat were all love stories at heart. But Ranveer's image as a loverboy is not only all about his films. The excessive promotion of Ram-leela, during which his reported 'affair' with heroine Deepika Padukone has been played up as a publicity tool, has also worked at rendering that image.

"I know I am young and single but you can't just keep focussing on my personal life all the time. People give their own spin to a story while observing us from a distance. All these link-ups are taxing. I love doing movies but the gossip just comes along as extra baggage in this profession," says Ranveer.

Deepika and Ranveer, despite being clicked in cosy poses over the past few months, have steadily been in denial mode about their alleged link up. Ranveer, though, has also made news for his link-up reports with Anushka Sharma, co-star of his first two films.

Contrary to popular belief, Ranveer is not wholly an outsider in Bollywood. Born Ranveer Bhavnani, he is a cousin of actress Sonam Kapoor from the latter's mother's side. The connection did help somewhat in gaining a foothold. Among those who noticed the innate sparks about him was Yash Raj Films honcho Aditya Chopra, who would eventually launch him in Band Baaja Baaraat and also produced Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl.

No surprises that YRF have again cast their blue-eyed protege in the upcoming Gunday, where he shares screens pace with Arjun Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. The film is slated for a February 2014 release, and Ranveer is excited because the script has given him full scope to get into action mode.
"I am doing a lot of stunts in Gunday and I simply love myself in action mode. I feel so comfortable with the genre," he says.

Armed with a degree in acting from the United States, Ranveer Singh's first stint in Bollywood was working as an assistant director to Shaad Ali. This Bombay boy briefly struggled to find a foothold in the industry despite his filmy connections. Finally, when Band Baaja Baaraat happened in 2010, he got just the right kickstart.

With Ram-leela he is seeing a marked increase in his fan base what with the masses enjoying his act as Bollywood's latest stud. He is cautious about future plans, though.

"I will sign a film only if the script interests me. I am planning to experiment with new characters from now on," he explains, about what kind of roles he would like to seek after courting romance and action in his releases so far.

Coming up after Gunday is Shaad Ali's Kill Dil, a romantic comedy that casts Ranveer along with Govinda, Rani Mukerji and Parineeti Chopra. He also has Zoya Akhtar's next in the pipeline.

Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh starrer Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela becomes fifth biggest opener of 2013

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh has proved to be a crowd puller. Though the film was in a bit of trouble because of its title, that hasn’t affected its box office collections so far. After getting off to a great start, Bhansali’s desi version of the Romeo and Juliet story continued to attract audiences on the second day too. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “Ram Leela continues to win hearts. Saturday Rs 17.5 cr. Total so far: Rs 33.5 cr nett. Expect a bigger total on Sunday.” The movie has collected approximately Rs 52.75 crore in its first weekend.  Thanks to Dippy and Singh’s solid performances, great music and brilliant cinematography, Bhansali’s film has managed to impress audience and critics alike. But will it enter the Rs 100 crore club?

Exhibitor-distributor Akshaye Rathi says, ” Ram Leela has taken a very good start at the box office. Having virtually no competition at the cinemas, the film got a good number of shows that allowed it to score great numbers. The music and Deepika’s current popularity level deserve maximum credit for the amazing weekend the has had! While 100 crore is a slightly ambitious target for Ram Leela, the possibility cannot be written off! A lot will depend upon how the film sustains on Monday.”

While Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus is enjoying a superb run at the box office, Kangna Ranaut’s Rajjo which released on the same day, failed create any magic. “Rajjo on the other hand did virtually nothing at the box office. With absolutely nothing that could draw the audience to the cinema for it, the film was poised to with this fate right since the 1st trailer was launched,” points out Rathi.

Besides being Ms Padukone’s third biggest opener this year, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela is Ranveer’s biggest so far. Though the film has garnered rave reviews and is going rock steady at the ticket windows, it may have a tough time in the coming week, as Gori Tere Pyaar Mein (Imran Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan) and Singh Saab The Great (Sunny Deol) are set to hit the big screens.
