Upcoming Bollywood romantic comedy film Phata Poster Nikhla Hero starring Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz. Film is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi who earlier directed films such as Khakee (2004) and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2009) other fims like . Ghayal (1990), Andaz Apna Apna (1994) also. And produced by Ramesh Taurani . The film is expected to release on 20 September 2013.

In August 2012, it was confirmed by director Rajkumar Santoshi that he has offered the film to actor Shahid Kapoor and that talks have been on for the film for the previous six months. It was earlier reported that actress Diana Penty has been signed as the female leading role but then the producers have said that they have signed on Ileana D'Cruz for the role because she would be perfectly suited for the role. Actress Padmini Kolhapure has been signed on to play the role of Kapoor's mom in the film. It was later confirmed that newcomer Deepika Kamainah will play an important role alongside Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D'Curz. The rest of the cast is yet to be confirmed.
